The Kenda Alpha Bite 26×1.95 Tire is an excellent replacement tire option for 26 inch Mountain Bikes. With enough tread to offer excellent traction in the dirt, the Alpha Bite still has a smooth-ish center tread so riding on pavement is efficient too.

Great tire for granite, dirt, mud but not for rocky mountain trails This is a great tire for hybrid riding. If you ride on some pavement, dirt, crushed granite and mud this tire is 4 stars. I did have problems with this tire on solid rock, and rocky surfaces especially if wet. Very aggressive tread pattern with surprisingly low rolling resistance on pavement. Surprisingly low rolling resistance on pavement most likely due to the nearly continuous pattern at the center of the tire. We purchased them for lunch time riding on city streets. The tall aggressive tread pattern gave protection and clearance over the ever-present goat head burrs. They failed at around 16 months in the Albuquerque sun when the tire cords began to unwrap along the bead of the tire just outside the rim. They were used five days a week for about 5 miles a day.
