Extremely Durable Bought this almost a year ago as a replacement chain for my ’58 Raleigh Sports and I have yet to come across any defects. This thing is ridden in hilly Ann Arbor more than 60 miles a week during the school year. If this is your first time replacing a chain, make sure to pick up a chain breaker tool! The cheapest 1/8-inch wide bike chain anywhere! If you’re not sure what width your current chain is, use a ruler to measure the space between the interior sets of plates on your chain. The common chain widths are 1/8 or 3/32 inches. Generally, purpose-built single-speed/fixed gear bikes use 1/8 chains, whereas single-speed bikes converted from geared/derailleur bikes use 3/32 chain. Running a 3/32 chain on gears designed for a wider 1/8 chain will result in very stiff operation.This…

It included a master link which made installation easy peasy–once my husband figured out how to do it (I didn’t quite get the hang of things, but…I was just going by instructions I found online, which didn’t include how to use a master link.
