I’ve been able to get away without a chainring nut tool for many years, but thought it might be better to buy a job-specific tool rather than relying on my old method of jamming a big screwdriver in the slots at an angle. But this isn’t any better than the screwdriver kludge. I had one really tight nut, but this tool would just pop out of the slot, resulting in one of the tabs bending. this tool sucks…. it started to bend, and started stripping the screws on my first screw.it also slips out of the slots easily. i tried another screw, and it started stripping and slipping too. the tool is made of stamped stainless steel, not hardened( as i expected) and is too soft. i expected more from a Park Tool tool sense my others have been pretty reliable, this is the first one i didnt like.Note – after brute forcing the bolts off with out this tool, i was able to tighten…
