What a rack! We bought this rack to hold our two new Pedego electric bikes and couldn’t be happier. Each bike weighs about fifty pounds with the battery removed and this rack handles the weight without issue. Both bikes are wider than average road bikes but the rack fits them just fine. The rack appears to be constructed with very heavy-duty components and went together easily (especially after reading the directions…). Nice bike rack, but very easy to strip threads in wheel trays, so be careful… There’s a lot to like about this Thule bike rack. The bikes are easy to load, the rack holds tires of different sizes (mountain bike up to the fat tires… I haven’t tried my thin tire road bike yet), and it appears solidly built. It took me about an hour to put it together, and the instructions are pretty good (but see below). It is a heavy device!So why not give it more stars?
