Great product for the price
My recipe to use the included screws. It installed easily, and I had zero problems with the included screws. The instructions say to drill a 1/8″ pilot hole, but that seemed too small for the included 2″ wood screw’s inner diameter. I used a 5/32″ instead. I rubbed the screws with a little bar soap as someone else suggested. I used a properly fitted phillips drill bit. If the bit is too small, the bit will strip the screw head. Great build/price and gets the job done If you are looking for a mount that will hold your bike up horizontally along your wall, then let this be it. There are plenty of other brand name racks and other more complicating ways to store your bike, but at $10 each with easy installation this is the better choice. The metal is very sturdy and I don’t see it bending. My bikes are pretty light so I don’t have to worry about that… It can also fold up when not in use. These obviously don’t have a built in shelf, but that’s not a problem…
