Better than the original set. I used this to refit a ’96 model Peugeot MTB, it had a 24x32x38 Altus crankset with old style ball bearings. I also ordered the cartridge style bearing set as well while being careful to measure the width of the bottom end. Now, the smaller gear allows me to go snail, maybe slug slow, in comparison and the larger gear is better for those trails hardpack or paved so that I’m not pedaling faster than the wheels can spin.
