Abus Bordo GRANIT X Plus 6500/85cm (33.46 in) black – Folding lock, Bike lock, Security level 15
Looking for the security of a U-Lock but the flexibility of a chain? Look no further than the Bordon Granit X-Plus 6500. With an ABUS security rating of 15 out of 15, this lock features temper hardened steel bars encased in an extra soft coating to protect your bike’s paint job. The ABUS Link Protection Shield offers high protection from sawing of the links. The lock body, links and supporting elements of the locking system use the same high quality steel you’ll find in the bars. The patented X-Plus Key cylinder offers extremely high protection from picking and it can be keyed alike with other ABUS locks featuring the same X-Plus cylinder – very convenient for multi-lock and multi-bike households. Like all locks in the Bordon family, the 6500 is simple to carry. The rattle free lock carrying case attaches easily to the frame via the silicone coated non-slip Velcro straps or screws easily into the bottle-cage mounts.

Saved me from having to buy a new bike! I bought this lock months ago to feel secure about parking my bike at a university during class. It paid for itself today. The thief worked on it for some time. Shifted my bike around quite a bit and chunked off bits of plastic; even bent it a bit. Gave up and stole my saddle-pack and crappy pump instead. I wish I could have caught him in the act, could have made a great Amazon review for a 5 star saline-based membranous cavity cleanser.Enough about the travesty…
A more flexible alternative to U-Locks – at a cost U Locks are the standard when it comes to serious bicycle security, and for good reason: the chunky rigid metal design is substantially more difficult to defeat than more flexible cables. The problem with U-Locks is twofold: one, they can be bulky and difficult to handle, and two, their rigidity can make them difficult or impossible to use when you have no bike rack around. I lock up my bike through my rear wheel, through my frame and onto a bike stand/rack/street post. There’s always plenty of room and length on the lock to secure my bike up this way. I also have gravity lock skewers on my wheels, to…
